The American India Foundation raised $3.1 million at its annual gala in New York City last week, a record for the philanthropic group, CNBC reports.
According to a press release, the money went to programs that help more than 10,000 children and adolescents regain their footing in nutrition, school readiness, and emotional well-being.
"While our mission remains rooted in eradicating multidimensional poverty through our health, education, and livelihoods programming, we adapt our work thoughtfully to address the changing reality of our beneficiary communities," says AIF CEO Nishant Pandey.
